I had a wonderful experience with this painting company. They did a meticulous and excellent job, easy to work with, and excellent value.

It was great working with Bair and I would certainly hire him again. I'd recommend Paintlab to anyone looking for a good quality at a good value. Paintlab painted both walls and floor, and some minor repairs of holes. It wasn't a perfect job and where there were errors, Bair quickly repaired them. He was kind, professional and accommodating. Besides this, the quality of the work was commensurate with the price, which is actually not very common these days and what I was most pleased with.

Learning from my errors, make sure you're very clear about everything you want and if possible, inspect the work in progress.

BEYOND 5 stars! Bair and his support team are hands down the best painters in New York City. Their work speaks for itself - the work that they did in our 2 bedroom apartment exceeded our expectations (for the standard paint walls, the lime wash walls, and wallpaper installation). Also, this was my first paint job, and I will be hiring Bair for my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and however many I have in the years ahead. That's because he executes remarkably well, if there's anything to fix/repair/do better then he goes out of his way to do it, and he is incredibly communicative and organized. I didn't realize how much work beyond the painting itself goes into a job like this. Pick out the paint you need and that's it - let the pros do the work...that's what I thought. But that is oh so wrong. You need to coordinate with the paint team on paint color of course, but also paint finish, exact surfaces/walls/doors/ ceilings/trims to be painted, what items have to be removed from walls (e.g., TVs, paintings, blinds) or ceilings (and put pack), scheduling paint time slots, moving all furniture/light switch panels/etc., checking the work for desired outcome, repainting where needed, cleanup...it takes an immense amount of effort, care, dedication to craft. And I couldn't have been more satisfied with Bair's patience, guidance, attention to detail, perfection, and magical paint brush.

We have been looking for a painter for our apartment on the upper west side. It is a Pierre-de-tier so I had to do everything via FaceTime which was a little challenging. Bair came for an initial walk-through on a fairly short notice and I explained everything over the phone of what I wanted done. He produced a quote within 3 hours after the virtual meeting with a very reasonable price. The communication had been easy and productive which gave me good feeling about working with Bair. It turned out I had made the right choice! Bair and his crew were very professional and detail-oriented. They really took the time to make sure the prep work was done properly and masked every inch of the floor and areas that were not to be painted. He was patient in helping me put up paint samples and sent me photos to explain what he thought would go well with the room. The job took a little longer than expected as it overlapped the Thanksgiving holiday but Bair didn’t rush and cut corners. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was painted to the most professional standards and cleaned up the job site efficiently with all trash properly disposed of. One of the other most important reason that I hired Bair was because I had two accent walls that needed to install wallpapers. Many painting companies don’t do wallpapers. It was a surprise that Bair actually does wallpaper so I didn’t have to hire another wallpaper installer which saved me a lot of time. I was a little skeptical about how the wallpaper installation would turn out as I have one wall with a slightly tricky pattern. It took someone with experience to align that pattern nicely with placement that doesn’t abruptly cut them off at the corners of the walls. Bair did a fantastic job and it was a relief to me when I saw the finished accent walls. They looked so good and were exactly how I envisioned them to be! I rarely wrote such long review so it tells how satisfied I am with Bair and his work, especially that I am fairly picky person and oversee jobs with considerable emphasis on details. Bair not only has the skills, but is also a genuinely nice and honest person with great manners and a kind heart, which is pretty precious for a contractor these days. I highly recommend him and him crew to anyone looking for a great painter. He would definitely be my go-to guy for any future paint jobs.

We had a great experience with PaintLab! From the very first phone call to the final walk through the team was easy to work with. We used them for refreshing our 2 bedroom apartment and the quote was far more reasonable than others we got, and the quality was great. Bair and his team did a terrific job repainting my whole studio apartment. He came to see the project and gave me a very reasonable quote (by far the most affordable) within 24 hours. He took apart doors to prime and paint them and, in one particular instance, the result was not only a beautiful door but one that was no longer unable to close completely. Bair was timely, kept me updated on his progress every day over a four-day job, and left the space spotless and just like new. Bair is extremely responsive, reliable, punctual, professional and knowledgeable - he took time to understand our needs and helped recommend our colors. He made our new construction home feel truly “new” (before it was just bland unfinished-feeling eggshell white). As a first time homeowner, I contemplated painting the place myself thinking it’d be an easy job in an empty home with new/clean walls, but worried because I’ve never painted before. If you’re facing a similar dilemma (or really for anyone in need of a paint job), don’t be stupid, save yourself the trouble and hire Bair - every penny of his competitive pricing will be very well worth it.

I couldn’t recommend Bair enough. He is so diligent and thoughtful with his work. He’s a great, honest and kind, unlike a lot of other contractors in the city. We hired Paintlab to paint our NYC apartment. Communication was great and they were quick to respond w/ estimate and availability.
